About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager to work at our seaside centre on the Isle of Wight, in Bembridge. 

You will be responsible for assisting to manage the Heads of Departments within Catering, Housekeeping, Activities and Maintenance. You will drive a Customer Service Culture across all departments within the centre, whilst ensuring that day to day functions run smoothly and all customers have the best experience during their stay. 

This is a full time role, generally Monday to Friday 9 - 5; however you may be expected to work outside of this schedule in peak times. You will be assisting our friendly General Manager, who will be your direct report. 

Main roles & responsibilities: 

  • Assisting to manage the heads of departments and day-to-day functions of the centre
  • To continuously achieve standards and customer service levels across all departments
  • To ensure that the Company’s safeguarding policy statement and procedures are adhered to always and appropriate records kept
  • To support the HOD’s with regular reviews, ensure they have individual reviews with their team, coaching, training and feedback mechanisms and tools.
  • To ensure the clear communication between departments to ensure budget is reflective of guest numbers
  • Deputise and support for the General Manager and in their absence
  • To support the delivery of business growth, cost saving opportunities and ensuring guest satisfaction levels are not compromised
  • To ensure the centre is well maintained so that it all legal required standards related to food hygiene, Ofsted, SFA etc
  • Create and deliver a guest experience focusing on the delivery of Centre KPI’s
  • Manage the budget, ensuring all operations are within budget and return positive outcomes
  • Acting as Safeguarding Lead and Mental Health First Aider
  • Maintain and develop the centres culture, fully supporting the overall company purpose and values

About you:

  • Personable with strong management skills
  • Experienced in leading a team (working in a similar environment is strongly preferred)
  • Excellent communicator both written and verbal
  • Customer-focused and results-driven
  • Commercially aware with experience of dealing with budgets
  • Team player with the ability to lead, motivate, inspire and manage
  • Organisational and time management skills 
  • Attention to detail and ability to use initiative
  • Great relationship building skills
