Job Title – Pastoral Care
Contract Length – 27th June - 2nd August 2024
Location – Isle of Wight
Salary - £12 per hour
Accommodation and Food are included.
Accommodation: You’ll be given the best accommodation we have onsite; you’ll be staying in a room we use for our guests, with an ensuite.
Food: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, every day!!
About the role
You will be responsible for supervising a team of up to 15 young people. You will do this by example, showcasing the attitude and spirit that is needed to tackle the challenges that face participants in the programme and life. You must be enthusiastic and organised in relating to each young person within their team and encouraging full participation in the programme. Team leaders should be passionate about young people and making a difference in their lives.

Training Dates : Thursday 27th June – Friday 28th June
Weekend off to explore the Island!
Work starts on the 1st of July!
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and supervise a group of up to 15 young people throughout their trip.
- Provide pastoral care for the team and empower each young person to be confident in developing a range of new skills.
- Oversee health and safety and behaviour management for the group.
- Work alongside other members of staff to ensure that all young people are engaged and fully participating in activities.
- You will be responsible for the well-being of each young person within your group.
About you!
- A passion and enjoyment for working with young people.
- Understanding of the needs of 16–17-year-olds and how to engage with them.
- Experience of working with young people in a paid or voluntary capacity.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Excellent communication and team-building skills.
- Ability to handle challenging situations and use initiative/problem-solving skills.
- Ownership – the ability to take ownership of tasked areas of responsibility.
- Confidence to lead guided reflection sessions and enable each team member to participate.
